Are you a Maori female and aged 12 to 14?
If you tick those boxes, movie stardom could be a click away.
Piki Films is seeking a Maori girl to play a support role in a new film by Boy director Taiki Waititi and casting the net around the motu.
The character is outgoing with a strong sense of humour and confidence. A country kid, she can handle herself in the bush and ride a horse. As well, she sings and plays guitar. Lessons will be provided before shooting if needed.
Filming is in the North Island from May 11 to June 15.
Anyone interested should made a video of themselves singing, strumming a guitar or telling a joke - or anything that shows character - and upload to YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox, with links attached to an online form from pikifilms.com/casting. The settings can be made private.
Catch Casting is in charge of the search.
Waititi is currently working on Hunt For the Wilderpeople an adaptation of Barry Crump's Wild Pork and Watercress.
