Castlecliff Hotel will have a new security camera put in after the owner was forced at knifepoint to give $3000 to a masked robber.
Amninder Singh feels "a bit better" two weeks on from the armed robbery.
He was leaving work on Monday, March 2 when the robber, clad in black with his face covered, appeared and held a knife to Mr Singh's neck.
"He said, 'I want money'. I said, 'Okay, if you want money you can have it'," Mr Singh said.
He was forced to take the money from the safe and put in a bag. The robber threatened to stab Mr Singh if he pressed a security button.
But he escaped when the robber sent him into the bar to get money out of the till and he warned staff and customers there was a man with a knife in the other room.
Bar manager Manpreet Singh was working the bar when Amninder Singh came in.
He saw the robber through the window in the door before the man fled out the back of the hotel.
Police want to speak to anyone with information on the robbery. They also want to identify a person captured on security camera footage, who they believe may be a witness.
-If you are that person or you think you know their identity, contact Detective Sergeant John Gleeson of Whanganui Police on 06 3492821.
