Artists and those interested in arts are invited to a meeting about the future of art in Wanganui.
The meeting, which continues a series of arts meetings this year, will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 5.30pm, at the War Memorial Hall. The meeting will be hosted by Wanganui District councillor Helen Craig and the council's arts co-ordinator, Debbie Kapohe. They will talk about the next steps in the council's arts policy review, as well as cover the outcomes of arts meetings that were in January and February. Representatives from Creative New Zealand will be present to talk about funding available, locally and nationally.
Ms Kapohe said she was looking forward to talking about the future of creativity in our community with a diverse range of people. "I encourage anyone interested in the arts in our community to come along to this meeting, even if you haven't been to a previous meeting. It's a great chance to contribute ..."
The meeting will run for approximately an hour.
There will be further meetings held during the year, with the next ones on April 30 and May 1.
