If you are planning a building project or looking to purchase a new house over the Christmas and New Year break the Wanganui District Council urges you to be sure to get documentation and payment to it in time for everything to be processed.
Bryan Nicholson, acting customer services group manager, said anyone needing a building or resource consent, should have the documents completed and payments in to council no later than tomorrow.
Mr Nicholson said this part of the council's administration is suspended from Monday, December 22 until Monday, January 12.
Anyone needing a non-urgent Land Information Memorandum (LIM) report, must have their application and payment to council by Wednesday, December 10.
Applications for urgent LIM reports are due on Monday, December 15. Processing LIM reports will be suspended from December 25 until January 15.
Mr Nicholson said if completed applications were not in by these dates, they may not be able to be processed before Christmas due to the "20-days-to-process" deadline.
"We will still be processing consents and LIM reports through these periods, but due to reduced staff numbers we can't guarantee when they will be completed.
"We don't want people to miss out on getting their holiday project started because they have missed a deadline, so we are advising people to get their applications into us by the applicable deadline," he said.
