A multi-talented musician is coming to Wanganui tomorrow for a gig ahead of the release of his first EP.
Singer, songwriter and producer Marino Mariner will play at Mint Cafe from 8.30pm.
Mr Mariner, 27, is based in Auckland, but is originally from Wanganui.
Before he spends the next two months finishing off his EP, he is coming to Wanganui to give his hometown a taste of his music.
"This will be my only show before my national commercial EP release in November, so I've decided it seems only right to come back and play for the people of my hometown who have supported my music journey from the beginning."
Mr Mariner described his Wanganui gig as "intimate and acoustic".
He is part of the RnB/ new age soul movement and has been influenced by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Justin Timberlake, Musiq Soulchild and Allen Stone.
After relocating to Auckland, he spent some time working behind the scenes, producing and writing for well known New Zealand artists such as K.One, Ria Hall, J Williams, Ma-V-Elle, Sid Diamond as well as many underground emerging artists.
Mr Mariner is also part owner/director of music label The WAS with business partner/manager Bronson Marshall.
Tickets for tomorrow night's show are $10, available at the door.
