Members of the public got up close and personal with some hot glass over the weekend.
Around 20 people turned up for Blowing In The Dark, where glass students demonstrated glass-blowing techniques in semi-dark conditions.
The event was a fundraiser by eight students from the Wanganui Glass School and UCOL Whanganui Bachelor of Fine Arts programme.
Organiser Triona Cooney said the students were pleased with the evening.
There were two shows, with the later one more popular because it was darker.
Those attending were able to get close to the action, she said, while a commentator explained the process.
"You can see glass being blown in other places, but you're quite a long way off.
"Everyone was able to see really well what was happening and, because it was nearly dark, it was quite dramatic," Ms Cooney said.
Each audience member received a small piece of blown glass free, and students also had pieces of their work for sale.
The event raised $550 and Ms Cooney said the money would go toward students' end-of-year shows in Wanganui and Taupo in November.
"We'll be doing other fundraising events during the year, but every little bit helps."
