A man who threw a bottle and smashed a window will be out of pocket for more than $1800 once he's made reparation payments.
McKaleb Guy Girven was with friends on February 20 when they walked past Wilson's Hunting and Outdoors, Whanganui District Court heard on Tuesday.
Girven, 19, threw a glass bottle at the window and smashed it, police prosecutor Sergeant Stephen Butler said.
Girven told police he had thrown the bottle at the ground and it bounced up and hit the window. He pleaded guilty to a charge of wilful damage.
Judge David Cameron sentenced him to 50 hours' community work and ordered him to pay $1806.71 for the window.
