An Auckland-based charity is in Wanganui this week to spread its message about looking after our coasts.
Sustainable Coastlines communications manager Camden Howitt and Chris Cochrane will hold events on three days.
Tomorrow they give workshops on their message and how to deliver it. The workshops at Whanganui Regional Museum at 11.30am and 6.30pm are free.
They will spend Friday giving the same presentation to pupils at Wanganui Intermediate School, and on Sunday they will run a tree planting event.
Mr Camden said the group had five full-time staff. Its core messages were about preventing litter on beaches and at sea, and keeping the water running to the coast from drains and streams as clean as possible by riparian planting.
Mr Howitt said the purpose of the roadshow was to get other people to deliver their message, because Sustainable Coastlines staff were run off their feet.
"We're trying to get more people to spread the educational work. We can't keep up with demand."
The workshops at the museum tomorrow are each two hours long. The first hour is the information the group want to spread, and the second is tips about how to deliver it.
People interested in doing so will be provided with resources, and the workshops are free with light refreshments provided.
People planning to come are asked to register at www.sustainablecoastlines.org.
