Get nominating, Wanganui, the Youth Week 2014 Awards are getting close.
Local MP Chester Borrows said the awards were a chance to "recognise and celebrate outstanding young people in Wanganui and South Taranaki who are valued as active members of our community".
He encouraged applications of young people aged 12-24 from Wanganui and South Taranaki for the awards, run by the Ministry of Youth Development.
"By volunteering and leading significant projects in our community, young people are not only making a positive contribution, they are building essential skills and attributes for employment," Mr Borrows said. Categories were leadership, change maker, giving back and working for young people.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for the Wanganui and South Taranaki communities to recognise the positive contribution our young people are making, and celebrate the great things that many of them are doing."
This year's Youth Week theme was Be the Change.
Winners of the awards will be announced during Youth Week, from May 17-25.
Nominations close 9am April 28.
