Whanganui MP Chester Borrows is comfortable about two things - planned changes to his electorate and his role as a politician.
Two thirds of the way through his third term, Mr Borrows has confirmed his intention to stand in next year's general election and carry on doing what he "loves doing".
"I always had it in mind to do quite a few terms and I have no intention of saying a fourth term [from 2014] will be my last," he told the Chronicle.
The former policeman said he enjoyed working in the fields of justice and welfare.
'And I know that people I meet enjoy working with someone who's been there and done that."
Nominations for the National candidacy in the electorate closed on Monday and Mr Borrows was the only name put forward. He said he did not think boundary changes planned for the Whanganui electorate would impact on his polling.
"If you go on polling booth figures from the 2011 election, then we're giving away less than we'll gain," he said.
Under changes to be confirmed next year, the electorate loses the coastal Taranaki area north of Opunake but picks up Stratford township and some of the surrounding farming area.
