The Waimarino co-ordinator, Kathryn Greenwood, will be out at 7am with long-time supporter Peggy Frew and Kerry Saunders to sell the hundreds of daffodils that are brought in for the special day.
The women will be in Goldfinch St outside Ohakune New World, across the road at Take Note and in Seddon St, Raetihi.
Former co-ordinator Kandy Mott will also be outside New World from 11am to start serving steak sandwiches for lunch, continuing until everyone in the town who wants to be fed has been fed.
"We'll be serving venison and mutton sausages, and $5 steak sandwiches with coleslaw, onions, pickles, beetroot," Kandy said.
"All the vegetables will be fresh and New World discounts the breads and condiments."
The cancer society was also about helping people stay healthy, so keeping fibre in their diets with the fresh vegetables was a bonus, she said.
"And if we run out of meats, breads or pickles, New World allows us to go back in and get what we want, then we pay at the end of the day."
The food usually runs out anywhere between 6pm-7pm, by which time the helpers need something to revive them after a long day serving the community.
Waiouru, Taihape, Marton and Wanganui will also have stalls.
During this month, the Cancer Society has sold Ohakune vegetables and Pukekohe potatoes from its Daff Day shop at 153 Victoria Ave in Wanganui.
The vegetables are picked up from Ohakune and brought to Wanganui free of charge by Priority Couriers.
"The freight would kill it if we were paying normal rates," Peggy said.
