GLENDA Jackson was woken with a thump on Saturday morning, when a neighbour's shed was lifted off the ground and flew into her backyard.
The Gonville resident was rugged up in bed when she heard a dramatic crash about 4am.
"I heard a noise, and I thought, 'Do I get up and go and look or stay in bed where it's warm?' she said.
Having opted to postpone the investigation, Mrs Jackson had second thoughts when her neighbour told her about the unidentified flying shed.
"His dogs started barking, so he rang me up and said we had a damaged shed in our backyards."
It belonged to a neighbouring property.
Although Mrs Jackson's property suffered no damage, her neighbour was not so lucky.
After the shed flew over his fence, a piece broke off, and ricocheted off his house and on to his new car.
Remarkably, the only visible damage was a broken mirror and a few scratches. He had a theory on the freak accident.
"Going by the damage, I can only think it's got to be a small twister, because nothing else has moved."
The contents of the shed, along with other items scattered around the area were untouched, but the shed travelled about 10 metres and had to travel over a three-metre-high garage to its resting place, on the boundary between the two properties.
No one was injured, and the fire service attended the scene.
