Giant killers stay unbeaten

Cross Country Rentals Giants maintained their unbeaten record in the Hutt Valley President's grade men's softball competition with a 7-2 win over Demons on Saturday.

While the score might suggest a comfortable win to Giants, the game was tightly contested.

Highlights of the Giants' batting effort were the automatic home run by Terry Waitere and the three safe hits by Gary McLean, while pitcher Tony Nixon was his usual dominating self on the mound.

Giants have now won six from six, although they have taken the diamond on only three occasions. The other three wins have come from defaults.

It was a good day at the office for the Giants premier threes on Saturday.

They played a double-header in their combined Wellington-Hutt Valley competition at South Park in Masterton and won both, beating Paramata-Plimmerton 5-2 and Dodgers 10-8.

The Giants under-15s lost a close battle with Wainuiomata at Wainuiomata 6-5 but the under-13s were in grand form against Totara Park at South Park, winning 20-5.
