Greytown cafe 2 Short Whites is again playing cupid, but this time for single people over 50.
The cafe ran a successful singles night for 30 to 50-year-olds earlier this month.
Cafe co-owner Nicky Brindle said before the event there had been a lot of interest expressed by men and women who exceeded the age limit, so they decided to hold an event dedicated to those 50-plus.
"It's not so much about romance, it's about companionship," she said.
The 50-plus Singles Night is on Friday, June 24, from 6pm.
"There's an awful lot of people who have lost their partners who don't get asked out.
"If you haven't got small kids and you're not getting out to the kindy it's harder to meet people," Mrs Brindle said.
"Everyone will know that on that particular night everyone is in the same boat.
"It'll be a chance for a good chat and a nice meal."
Mrs Brindle said 40 per cent of the people who attended the previous singles event had caught up with someone else from the group since.
People can register for the event via the 2 Short Whites Facebook page or by visiting or phoning the cafe.
