Parents at Tuturumuri School are getting creative with their fundraising.
Two fathers of pupils at the small South Wairarapa school have crafted a special chandelier made from real antlers to raise funds for the school.
Parent Tineke McNeil said with only 11 pupils at the school, fundraising was always important.
"It's a great little school ...[but] we are constantly needing to fundraise to keep the school running and get extras for the kids - it's pretty tricky with only five families."
The chandelier is made from about 22 antlers which were donated by people around the district.
The electric bulbs were fitted by an electrician.
The chandelier is priced at $1800, which was reasonable considering similar ones with fake antlers can retail for about $3000, Mrs McNeil said.
The chandelier can be purchased from design store Sarah Jones in Eketahuna, phone 06 3758835.
