Wairarapa Police are appealing to the driver of a station wagon who may be able to help with a crash investigation.
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash around 3.40pm on Sunday, July 6, on Te Whiti Rd near the intersection of Homebush Rd, Masterton.
"It appears the driver of the motorcycle lost control before travelling into a tight corner and crashed into a fence," said Sergeant Gibson.
The motorcyclist, a Wairarapa man in his 50s, was the only person involved and injured in the crash.
Police would like to speak with the driver of a four-door station wagon similar to a Ford Mondeo that drove by the motorcyclist seconds before the crash happened.
The driver was travelling away from Masterton on Te Whiti Rd in the same direction as the motorcyclist.
"The driver of this vehicle is not in any trouble and is likely to hold information which would assist the investigation," said Sergeant Richard Gibson. "The driver of this car may not even be aware that the motorcycle has gone on to crash."
The motorcyclist received significant internal injuries in the crash and is still in a serious condition at Wellington Hospital.
Please call Sergeant Gibson on 06 370 0300 if you can assist.
