The vibrancy of the Wairarapa business sector was epitomised by the success of the Wings over Wairarapa event last weekend, says Wairarapa Development Group chairman Shane McManaway.
He was commenting after a global business solutions company's new report found that almost a third of New Zealand businesses intend to employ more people in 2013.
The report by Hudson showed 30.4 per cent of businesses intend to take on more staff and Mr McManaway said that was evident here, too.
"We don't have an accurate percentage of growth here but there seems to be a vibrancy in Wairarapa which is apparent.
"We're seeing more and more guests and tourists coming to events in the region," he said.
"Wairarapa people are geared up now to maximise these opportunities and the Wairarapa is a wonderful place to visit."
Mr McManaway said there was now a strong platform to build on and many possibilities for businesses to achieve fantastic results in sectors such as tourism alongside traditional enterprises such as farming.
