Armed police have arrested one of two men wanted in connection with the fatal bashing of Featherston man Glen Jones.
Detective Inspector Sean Hansen said Kristofer Jones, 23, of Masterton, was arrested by armed officers on SH1 near Hunterville about 2am today.
He said police in Levin had late yesterday found a blue Mitsubishi vehicle they were seeking in connection with the two menbeing sought.
Mr Hansen said Kristofer Jones is in custody and would appear in Palmerston North District Court this afternoon on a charge of aggravated burglary connected to the vicious beating of Glen Jones at his Fitzherbert St unit about midnight on Friday.
Mr Jones,40, died in Wellington Hospital about five hours later of head injuries received in the attack.
Two women, aged 32 and 22, and a man, 28, all of Masterton, appeared in Masterton District Court yesterday afternoon ona charge each of aggravated burglary rel;ated to the attack on Mr Jones. They did not plead and were granted name suppression and remanded in custody to reappear on Friday.
Police are still seeking Hayden Ranson, 27, of Hutt Valley, who is believed to have fled Wairarapa along with Kristofer Jones.
Mr Hansen said Ranson is believed to be travelling alone and should not be approached.
