Parents and carers have been urged to enrol their children early to join the activities on the free Summer School Holiday Programmes run by Masterton Safe and Healthy Community Council.
The programme starts on January 14 and will include a range of new activities from stand-up paddleboard racing for older children to word and number puzzles for younger kids, MSHCC manager Sandy Ryan said.
The programmes for children aged 5 to 13 will be run at Lakeview, Masterton Intermediate and Masterton Primary schools from 10am to 3pm.
Children from Carterton to Featherston aged 11 to 13 must enrol to be eligible for a chartered bus ride to the programme in Masterton from their homes south of the town.
The programme has a limited number of vacancies and parents and carers are encouraged to enrol early, Mrs Ryan said.
Enrolments will be taken at Wairarapa Community Centre, 41 Perry Street and can be downloaded from the MSHCC website at www.mshcc.org.nz.The MSHCC offices will be closing at midday on Friday and reopening on Tuesday, January 7.
