1. Lucky Launch
Auckland creative Imogen Wilson launches Lucky tonight, a zine bringing together portraits she photographed of 10 local girls, capturing intimate moments that explore the tensions of youth and coming of age. For tonight's launch event, open for all, she's teamed up with Melbourne collective Ladies of Leisure, who will be in New Zealand for the first time with their latest zine of female hopes and dreams LOL 3.

2. Poropiti
If you're quick you might be able to scoop up a ticket to Poropiti, showing as part of The Basement's Matariki offerings this year. The Sugarlicks show is a "meditation on utopian visions of pre-European Aotearoa" starring Tola Newbery and Electric Wire Hustle singer-songwriter Mara TK, who together merge movement, song, sound and theatrical lyricism. The show explores the emergence of the Maori prophetic movements and their fracture with the capitalist dystopia of modern times. To see the trailer, go here

3. Stellar 2017
Another Matariki event on this weekend takes place at Takapuna's Smales Farm from tonight. Lighting architect Angus Muir, who is behind the new installation at the Viaduct, has designed several works for Stellar 2017 that reflect the Matariki constellation, and there will be DJ, Vospertron performances, workshops and street food from Food Space's Puna Kai featuring international dishes with a Maori twist. And If you're in the city, be sure to stop by the Te Korakora on Federal street food festival, which will also be offering Maori twists on street food,designed by MasterChef favourite Cameron Petley. 4. Liz Mitchell Designer Garage Sale
Local designer Liz Mitchell is hosting one heck of a garage sale on Sunday in Epsom, featuring new and vintage fabrics, clothing, samples, homewares, bric-a-brac, Japanese kimonos and textiles, jewellery and accessories, yarn, books and magazines, and more. This is one yard sale you do not want to miss.

5. The Great One Hundred and Under Vintage Clothing Sale
Another great sale to check out this weekend is the Glory Days' Great One Hundred and Under Vintage Clothing Sale, on at Highwic in Newmarket. Up for grabs are the team's personal collection of vintage and retro clothing, including accessories from the 1930s-1980s. Prices will be $100 and under, and while you're there, be sure to pop your head into Till Death Us Do Part, the current exhibition of vintage wedding dresses.

6. Bean Supreme Pop-Up Cafe for the SPCA
Do your bit for the animals on Friday and stop by the Bean Supreme pop-up cafe in Aotea Square for a veggie burger. Your gold coin donation for the wholefood burger, designed by chef Jamie Miller from Mint Kitchen, will go to the SPCA and all donations will be matched by Bean Supreme. On the menu are black bean and beetroot burgers, kumara burgers, and a masala burger.

7. BLOC Night Markets
Scoop up some bargains at tonight's BLOC Night Markets which will feature end-of-line products, seconds and samples at special prices. Some of the items on offer include Arnold Circus stools at a reduced price of $210 (pre-orders are available) and Deadly Ponies x EDN laptop wallets, garden bags and wash bags.
