A pianist who says he co-wrote some of rock'n'roller Chuck Berry's greatest hits is suing for millions in royalties. Lawyers for Johnnie Johnson, 76, claim Berry took advantage of Johnson's alcoholism and misled him into believing that only Berry was entitled to copyrights.
Johnson, 76, says he had a hand in about 50 Berry songs, including No Particular Place to Go, Roll Over Beethoven and Sweet Little Sixteen. A spokesman for Berry said the lawsuit would be "completely defended" and there was no chance of a settlement.

Alicia Silverstone, who starred as a dizzy high-school girl in Clueless, has won the Plain English Campaign's award for talking nonsense. The British group awarded the actress its Foot in Mouth prize for an interview she gave with the Sunday Telegraph in which she said: "I think that Clueless was very deep. I think it was deep in the way that it was very light. I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it's true lightness."
