A New Zealander who died in a high-speed British train crash was a pilot from Palmerston North who had just landed his dream job.
Robert James Alcorn, aged 37, was killed along with three others when the train he was on derailed and crashed near Hatfield yesterday.
Thirty-five others were injured.
Mr Alcorn's sister Jeanette Cox says Mr Alcorn had been living in London for the past two years with his girlfriend Angela Smith.
She says he had just secured the job he wanted 10 days ago flying for the McLaren Mercedes Formula One team.
Ms Cox says her younger brother trained as a pilot in New Zealand and worked in Feilding and Kerikeri.
Two family members have flown to London to bring Mr Alcorn's body home.
