Hillary Clinton sealed a powerful alliance on the campaign trail this morning, and Elizabeth Warren used her time in the spotlight to absolutely skewer Donald Trump.
The Massachusetts senator made her fiery 2016 debut at a campaign rally alongside the Democratic presidential candidate in Cincinnati, Ohio. The event marked the first time the two Democrats have campaigned onstage together.
"We're here to fight side-by-side with Hillary Clinton," Senator Warren declared, dubbing Trump "a small, insecure money grubber who fights for no one but himself" and "a thin-skinned bully driven by insecurity and hate."
Speaking from behind a lectern that aptly read 'Stronger Together', Senator Warren let fly, trashing Trump for contributing to the middle class' economic woes. "When Donald says he'll make America great, he means greater for rich guys just like Donald Trump," she said. "He will crush you into the dirt to get whatever he wants. That's who he is."
She lit up the crowd as she lobbed attack after attack on the presumptive GOP nominee, while Clinton stood beside her with a confident smile on her face, wearing a power suit in a similar shade.
"What kind of a man?" Senator Warren implored. "A nasty man who will never become president of the United States, because Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States."
Senator Warren, who has been on the receiving end of Trump's Twitter attacks, made sure to call him out on it. "She [Hilary] doesn't whine. She doesn't run to Twitter to call her opponents fat pigs or dummies."
She even poked fun at Trump's "goofy hats" before handing over to Clinton.
The two women have formed a tight electoral alliance in recent weeks, and Senator Warren's formal endorsement, albeit a late one, marks a significant political win for Clinton after her hard-fought battle against Bernie Sanders. Senator Warren is also reportedly on Clinton's shortlist of potential vice presidential running mates but her merciless speech signifies that she intends to be a vital ally in any capacity.
Amid "Hillary! Hillary!" chants from the crowd, Clinton stepped up to the podium and thanked Senator Warren, who she referred to as "my friend and a great leader".
"You just saw why she is considered so terrific, so formidable, because she tells it like it is," Clinton said. "I do just love to see how she gets under Donald Trump's thin skin."
Hand-in-hand, the women threw their arms in the air, wrapping up their scathing attack on the presumptive Republican nominee with an undisputed display of unity.
Trump, perhaps sensing the onslaught coming, dismissed Clinton and Senator Warren in a tweet earlier in the day.
"Crooked Hillary is wheeling out one of the least productive senators in the US Senate, goofy Elizabeth Warren, who lied on heritage," he wrote, referencing a 2012 controversy surrounding how the Massachusetts senator described her Native American heritage.
The billionaire real estate mogul came under fire for calling Warren "Pocahontas" last month.
