Icahn reveals stake in Canada's Talisman Energy

Talisman Energy Inc. shares soared in extended trading after activist investor Carl Icahn tweeted that he has accumulated a nearly 6 percent stake in the Canadian oil and gas company.

A representative for Talisman could not be reached immediately for comment.

Talisman shares are up 6.9 percent to $13.63 in after-hours trading. Its stock added 56 cents to close regular trading at $12.75, up 12.5 percent this year.
