Former Mediaworks CEO Sussan Turner has been appointed as a director of TVNZ, Broadcasting Minister Amy Adams announced today.
"As a former Group CEO of Mediaworks, Ms Turner has extensive television and media knowledge and experience and will bring real depth and substance to the role," Adams said.
Turner stood down as Mediaworks CEO last August.

She also previously worked as chief executive for Radioworks and managing director for Radio Otago and is a currently a board member of the Well Foundation.
NZX director Therese Walsh has also been elevated to the position of deputy chair at TVNZ.
"Ms Walsh has been a Director of TVNZ since 2012 and has made a considerable contribution since her appointment," Adams said.
"She will provide strong leadership support to the board in her new position as deputy chair."
Wellington-based Walsh is head of New Zealand for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 and also holds the position as chair for the International Development Selection Panel for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
"Together these women bring a breadth of experience and talent to TVNZ and I wish them well as they settle into their new roles," Adams said.
Both women have been appointed three-year terms. The TVNZ Board now has a majority of women members.
Adams also announced the reappointment of Gary Monk to the board of Radio New Zealand for a six months term.
"Mr Monk has been a director of Radio New Zealand since 2009 and continues to make a good contribution to the board," she said.
Monk was first appointed to the RNZ Board in 2009 and holds a number of directorships including Intersea Ltd, WHW Holdings Ltd, Argent Group New Zealand Ltd, Glimmer Ltd and Lansea Trading Ltd.
He is also currently chair of Timaru-based deer leather exporter New Zealand Light Leathers Ltd.
