Eli Orzessek flies China Airlines from Auckland to Taipei via Brisbane on CI54.
The plane: Airbus 330-300.
Class: Business.
Price: Current Business Class fares are $3499 including taxes, on sale until July 31. Economy Class fares are on sale for $1199, including taxes.
My seat: 1D, right at the front, in the middle row. Plenty of leg room, as you would expect. A very comfortable seat that I enjoyed adjusting in every way possible without worrying about annoying the person behind me.
Entertainment: A decent screen with a pretty good selection of movies. My trip was at the end of the month, so new movies had been added for my flight back. And there were cartoons to distract me from turbulence during the night.
Fellow passengers: Business types mostly and quite a few Australians.
How full: Business Class was full. There are 30 Business Class seats and 307 Economy seats.
Service: Staff were friendly and smartly dressed. The hot towels were much appreciated.
Food and drink: I felt very well fed during my flights. I even had a "late night snack", which was a really delicious steak at 2am. There was a selection of Japanese and Taiwanese beers.
Toilets: Pretty standard.
Luggage: 30kg for Business, 20kg for Economy.
Airport experience: I don't remember much about the airports, so it must have all been running smoothly.
Would I fly again? Yes.
