Once completed, this mountainbiking trail will be accessible from Thames, Paeroa, Waihi or Te Aroha. The 7km section of the trail which runs through Karangahake Gorge is now open and is suitable for families and riders of all ages. The Hauraki Rail Trail is one of the 18 New Zealand cycle trails which will eventually extend 2000km throughout the country.
