I'd rather be in ... Edinburgh

In a week: Sipping G&Ts at the Gin Festival Edinburgh, a three-day event showcasing more than 100 different gins, with live entertainment, food trucks and talks from industry experts. Kicking off in this beautiful Scottish city on October 7-9, the festival then moves around the UK for the months leading up to Christmas, visiting Rochdale, Cardiff, Brighton, Leicester, Newcastle, Harrogate and Liverpool. It would be rude not to pop into them all, right?

In a month: Continuing the indulgence at F.A.W.C - the Food and Wine Classic in Hawke's Bay from November 4 to 13. This year is the festival's fifth birthday, and as well as all the great food and drink you'd expect from the region on offer, there will be guest appeareances from famous foodies including Ray McVinnie, Josh Emett and Nadia Lim, as well as a special Secret Location Lunch with Fat Freddy's Drop.

In a year: I'm probably going to need to detox after living the good life, so I'll head to The Farm at San Benito - a luxury wellness retreat set in the tropical rainforests at the base of Mount Malarayat in the Philippines.

Packages include yoga, tai chi, meditation and relaxation, as well as a detox programme to rebalance the body. I wonder if gin is included?
