Kiwi Living's travel presenter has thousands of travel 'hits' but hates 'holiday hangovers'.
Hit
I recently spent nearly two years travelling the globe with my son Jet, so I have 17,000 "hits" — enough to write a book about them all. And so I did.
The Jet Project took us around the world, from snorkelling with jellyfish in Palau, to camping with nomads in the Sahara; from dancing on the Great Wall of China, to giggling on a super-tacky super-yacht in Monaco. It really was the trip of a lifetime. But the best part of it was quality time with my son; having the freedom to do what we wanted when we wanted, without the distractions of work, school and mind-numbing house chores.
Miss
Every trip has a downside. I call it the "holiday hangover" — the energy slump that kicks in when you're back home and elbow-deep in your daily routine. Hangovers suck but luckily, my new job as a travel presenter for Kiwi Living means I'm too busy travelling to have them. Unless they're cocktail-induced . . .
