Definitely my most recent one to Trinidad for the final of the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge. Seven days in the Caribbean, staying in beautiful hotels, cruising around the islands on yachts and, of course, all the free rum.
And the worst?
When I was 11, I went with my parents to Rhodes in Greece. I spent the first day climbing a huge hill by the hotel only to spend the next four days looking like a lobster and in serious pain from sunburn.
If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing?
I'll most likely be checking out the latest bars and the local cocktail and beverage scene.
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be?
Mueller Ridge, Aoraki Mt Cook National Park. To spend a week relaxing looking over the mountain range with no contact with the outside world would be a very welcome break.
How about for a dream holiday internationally?
North Korea. I want to experience the vast cultural and lifestyle differences and see exactly what it's like, despite how it is portrayed in the media.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
Visiting Berlin and almost missing the Berlin Wall. We spent two days out on the town and for some reason the main attraction was not on our to-do list. Luckily, one night on my way home I took a wrong turn and actually ended up walking the whole length of the wall.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Experience the local culture. Too many people go on holiday and look for home comforts.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
Roasted marinated pig tail in Trinidad. Or doubles - they are the greatest thing made from roti, chickpeas, spicy sauce and goodness.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
Always the memories.
Favourite airport to land at?
Not sure about my favourite but the worst is LAX. Rude staff, not a single sign for guidance and barely anywhere to eat.
What's the next trip you've got planned?
A small one - flying to Melbourne at the end of March for my birthday.
