The Rugby World Cup pool play phase is over for another four years and it's time to look at the key statistics from the 40 matches which throw up a few interesting facts.

It may surprise people that an Englishman topped the try-scoring with Chris Ashton scoring more tries (six) than Scotland combined (five), who were also outscored by Namibia (six).

However England's kicking rate was one of the worst with the ever-reliable Jonny Wilkinson kicking just 45 percent during pool play. It was still better than Romania's Marin Dumbrava who kicked 38 percent of his attempts.

Meanwhile Wales broke against tradition by having the second most linebreaks.
