The Country is going "Outback with Allflex." Jamie Mackay catches up with some of the leading lights in the Platinum Primary Producers Group (comprising 150 of the largest and most productive farmers across Australasia).

Today it's the turn of Don McDonald from MDH Pastoral.

MDH Pastoral is Australia's largest privately-owned cattle producer with 11 stations running about 180,000 cattle, a large feedlot and even a chain of butcher shops.

Don is also the father of Zanda McDonald who died in a tragic accident five years ago.

Platinum Primary Producers Group's Chairman Shane McManaway set up the Zanda McDonald Award in his memory to award young agricultural people at the top of their game.

Don is proud and humbled that the award is in his son's name and says he was a "terrific young fella...he was dynamic, he was a great believer in the farming industry."
