The Country is going "Outback with Allflex", Jamie Mackay catches up with some of the leading lights in the Platinum Primary Producers Group (comprising 150 of the largest and most productive farmers across Australasia).
Today it's the turn of the chief executive of the Consolidated Pastural Company (CPC) - Troy Setter.
Listen below:
Troy runs a rather impressive farming operation which is 5.5 million hectares (bigger than Switzerland). Luckily Troy has a great team to help run 400,000 cattle over 16 properties spread right across Northern Australia.
About 40 per cent of CPC's stock is destined for Indonesia with the rest going through domestic meat processing in Australia or live exports into other parts of South East Asia.
Also in today's interview Jamie and Troy discuss the Brahman cattle breed and how it is well suited to hotter climates along with how the Australian beef market is going.
