The Country's Jamie Mackay caught up with Green Party co-leader James Shaw and Green candidate John Hart to talk about why farmers should vote for their party.
John Hart is a Wairarapa-based farmer who Shaw says looks good in gumboots as well as a suit. Hart represents a change for the Greens and is part of their "new generation of people coming on board".
Hart started out fifteen years ago on a lifestyle block and has been running a small organic sheep and beef farm for the past eight years.
Can the Greens and farmers realistically work together? Hart and Shaw tackle this question in the audio clip above.
