Whanganui Regional Museum's famous egg-layer Hetty the Hen is back and cluckier than ever, says museum programmes officer Riah King-Wall.
The popular mechanised chicken will be at a new location this Easter. She is roosting in the Davis Central City Library in Queen's Park.
"While the Museum in Watt St is closed, the library is the perfect spot for Hetty to hang out with kids and adults.
"She is actually a big fan of books, especially chick-lit." says Ms King-Wall.
"After resting all year she is energised and egg-cited about coming out of her coop to see her adoring public, as well as supplying local kids [of all ages] with freshly laid marshmallow eggs this Easter.
The famous chook will be laying her eggs at the library from tomorrow to Saturday, (excluding Good Friday) from 3 to 4.30pm daily.
Eggs cost $1 with allergy-friendly options available.
