The Country's Rural Raconteur Jim Hopkins had a chat to Jamie Mackay today to put the world to rights.
First up Hopkins suggests New Zealand should move its New Year's Honours to Waitangi Day. What better way to celebrate our nation?
Mackay suggests his own idea of eating lamb on Waitangi Day, another way to instil patriotic fervour into New Zealand hearts.
Hopkins sampled lamb cooked in a hangi and reports he has not "tasted lamb as nice and as succulent and as tender in long, long, long time". In fact he believes if New Zealand could find a way to sell hangi-cooked lamb to the world we'd be on to a winner.
Finally Jim turns his attention to the ailing wool industry with an idea that could tap into the lucrative Asian market.
