Tennis: Doubles title for Kiwis

New Zealand tennis professionals have enjoyed some success in Asian ITF Futures events this week, with Marcus Daniell leading the way.

Daniell and British doubles partner Richard Grabb won their second title in as many weeks as they defeated Wan Gao (China) and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan (India) 6-1 7-6 for the title at the US$10,000 Futures at Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

In the singles at the same event, Artem Sitak is through to the final after beating third seed Axel Michon (France) 6-4 3-6 6-4 in the semifinals. He now plays fourth-seeded Brit Alexander Ward for the title.

In Indonesia at the US$15,000 Jakarta Futures, Michael Venus is in the doubles final with German Tim Puetz. They beat the local pairing Chris Rungkat and Elbert Sie 7-5 7-5 in the semifinals and now face top-seeded Australians Brydan Klein and Dane Propoggia.
