Marina Erakovic has rebounded back after being ousted in the first round of the singles at the French Open by reaching the second round in the doubles overnight.
The New Zealand number one and doubles partner Monica Niculescu of Romania defeated French duo Severine Beltrame and Laura Thorpe in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.
Erakovic and Niculescu will now face Chinese pair Shuai Peng and Jie Zheng in the next round. Niculescu has progressed past the third round in the doubles in Paris the last three years including a quarterfinal appearance two years ago.
Yesterday Erakovic fell in the singles to Spaniard Lourdes Dominguez Lino 7-5, 7-5.
