Jilted Bachelorette Bel Clarke has turned to reality TV in a second attempt to find love and ever-after happiness.
The Herald on Sunday can today reveal the 25-year-old is among the 12-strong cast of series one of Married At First Sight NZ.
The reality TV show - which premieres on Three in two weeks - will see six new couples tie the knot.
"Dating hasn't worked out for me and I am ready to settle down and build a life with someone," Clarke said.
"This is a rare opportunity where I could potentially find someone who is matched to me with the same values and wants in life. I had nothing to lose but a husband to gain."
The Herald on Sunday understands Clarke wasn't the only Bachelorette who has failed to find love on The Bachelor NZ to audition for Married at First Sight NZ.
Clarke's bio provided by show directors reveals she has only had two serious boyfriends, neither of whom "wanted to commit in the way she did".
"She has attempted online dating and dating apps Tinder and Bumble but they have only resulted in friendships," it read. "Bel is a big softie who openly shows her emotions and considers her Dad her best friend.
"She says a quick way to her heart is coffee, chocolate and a foot massage!"
Clarke failed to win the heart of Zac Franich in this year's season of The Bachelor NZ, who instead picked Viarni Bright.
Franich farewelled Clarke the day after she told him that she didn't know whether she could stay on in the show, partly out of frustration that she hadn't had enough one-on-one time with the Bachelor star.
