A contestant on The Bachelor NZ says she was "just joking" when she took to social media to ask Immigration NZ to "sway the rules for me".
Poppy Salter, who became famous for farting during a date with Art Green on The Bachelor NZ, recently complained of her struggles with her Immigration NZ residency application.
The British yoga instructor wrote: "Dear New Zealand. Why do you make getting residency SO DAMN HARD! (don't answer that... I know why...) But could you perhaps sway the rules for me?! All my love, Poppy."
One commentator said her post "smacked of stupidity" for asking Immigration NZ to bend the rules.
Salter replied: "Don't worry, no one is going to bend the rules. I was just joking."
She replied to several other comments on her post, thanking one reader for her support and asking another how long her application took.
Salter didn't reveal exactly what kind of issues she was having with Immigration NZ, but her troubles echo those of The Block NZ builder Martin Laidlaw.
Laidlaw, from Scotland, was banned from appearing on the TV3 reality show after his visa request was denied. His visa was extended for 12 months after fans signed a petition asking for him to stay.
Salter is currently holidaying in Vietnam with her boyfriend, Jacob MacDonald, a 26-year-old dive instructor, who she met after being eliminated during her stint on The Bachelor NZ.
She's blogging about her experiences overseas here.
