Taranaki's home renovation reality television show contestants Ginny Death and Rhys Wineera have become the proud owners of their first home.

A month after the couple bagged a third-placed $11,000 profit at auction in the high-rating TV3 home makeover show, The Block, the teen sweethearts have finally bought a property back in their home town, New Plymouth.

Their solidly-built three double-bedroom weatherboard home features wooden floors, al-fresco decking and an adventurous backyard in Frankleigh Park.

It was listed on the market for more than $275,000.

Dubbed The Block take 2, the couple tweeted they would be taking a paint brush and a hammer to their new home which they have describe as a DIY baby.
