An eco-friendly version of do-it-yourself rennovation show Mitre 10 Dream Home will air on TV2 in the new year.
The new season of the top-rating reality show, set to air in 2013, is also on the move, with two couples battling it out in run-down homes based in Christchurch.
The couples will rennovate a house each room-by-room, with judges and viewers' votes determining which couple will get to keep their house at the end of the show.
The theme for the series is "building smarter" and will feature tips and advice for budding do-it-yourself enthusiasts, a statement said.
"We believe that this new series will resonate with audiences throughout the country and be a very positive story for the people of Canterbury," said TVNZ's Andrew Shaw.
Mitre 10 Dream Home first aired in 1999 and has been hosted by Jayne Kiely. The last series aired in 2010.
The show's return comes on the back of TV3's hugely successful show The Block, which finished with a live auction that attracted 1,099,400 viewers.
