It's fitting that something such as cancer, named after the crab, should potentially receive treatment from a crab-like robotic device that was, in turn, inspired by a chilli crab meal.

The device is designed for the treatment of the early stages of gastrointestinal cancer. Unlike surgical treatments that would cause scarring, the device can travel down the throat of the patient.

THE FACULTY PROJECT

The Faculty Project is an online initiative aimed at bringing higher learning to people without access to top universities.

As long as you have an internet connection, you can join courses offered by some of the world's top professors, highly regarded in their field. Learning will be broken into PowerPoint presentations, PDFs and articles on Udemy.com.

VIRTUAL REALITY CONTACT LENSES

An innovative pair of contact lenses, developed by Innovega, could be the next step in virtual-reality experiences. Our eyes are not well-suited to focusing on images projected right in front of our eyes - but this may change. This technology has interested DARPA, who can see its potential for military purposes.
