Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth.

Situation:

An active front over the Tasman Sea, preceded by a strong northerly flow,crosses the country today, followed by northwesterlies.A complex trough approaches from the Tasman Sea on Friday, then affects New Zealand over the weekend.

Thursday: Northwest 10 knots, rising to 15 knots this morning, and to 20 knots for a time in the afternoon. Sea becoming moderate for a time in the afternoon. Fair visibility in afternoon and evening showers.

Outlook until midnight Sunday: Friday: Becoming variable 5 knots in the morning. Northwest 10 knots developing in the evening. Often cloudy, with drizzle morning and evening. Saturday: Northwest rising to 20 knots for a time. Showers. Sunday: Becoming variable 10 knots. A few showers.
