There are still good Samaritans, says Doreen Evershed, on receiving her lost glasses from the Stratford police.
A good sort handed the glasses in at the station after finding them outside New World.
She says the glasses must have fallen from her purse while she battled high winds during the storm that hit Stratford on September 8. It was a bit scary. How I did not get airborne, I do not know.
She realised her glasses were gone after visiting the store, and searched for them everywhere. My daughter rang the police and the next day they brought the glasses, saying a man found it in a puddle.
"A big thank you to the man who handed it in, she says, glad to have her bifocal driving glasses back.
The glasses are worth around $700.
