St Mary's Diocesan School topped the New Zealand Speech and Drama examinations held in Taranaki.
Ellen Hodder, 14, received an 'Honours Plus' mark for her Grade 6 examination and has also been nominated for the prestigious Melda Townsley award in Excellence in the Use of Language and Expression. Fellow student Eva Langton, 13, also received an Honours Plus mark for her Grade 5 examination having only commenced lessons since the start of 2012.
Teacher, Tracey Blake says, "It is outstanding for our girls to have national recognition at this level. They strive for excellence here at St Mary's and we have fun in the process." Other results for St Mary's Diocesan are: Grade 5: Suzy Le Fleming, Merit; Katie Brewer, Credit; Grade 7: Bree-Anna Langton, Credit Plus.
