THE senior leaders for Stratford High School, 2010 were announced at assembly on Thursday, February 11.
This year there is a team of eight leaders drawn from the Year 13 group.
Henry Marchant (Head Boy) is studying statistics, calculus, physics, chemistry and geography. Henry wants to lead the school in having a great year and academically attain UE and endorsement at NCEA level 3. He would like to attend Canterbury University to study engineering.
Olya Albot (Head Girl) is studying calculus, statistics and modelling, chemistry, biology, geography, and would like to achieve her UE and Level 3 with endorsement. Victoria University in Wellington in 2011.
Kelly West (BoT Student Rep) is studying metal design, physics, chemistry, English, calculus. Kelly would like to go out with a 'bang' and end up either in the Airforce or university in 2011.
Christian Howatson (Student Council Chairman) studying statistics, accounting, English, physics and Home Economics. He aims to pass level 3 with merit endorsement to equal his past achievement and wishes to attend Victoria University in Wellington.
Charley-Jean (CJ) Brown (Arts & Culture Captain) is studying Te Reo Maori, Gateway programme, Home economics, English and computer Studies. CJ would like to make culture and arts more recognisable within the school and to create a better perception of SHS along with going into the New Zealand Navy in 2011.
Dylan O'Neill (Arts & Culture Captain) is studying English, computer studies, drama, media studies, photography. Dylan aims to get more students involved in stage challenge and rock quest and in 2011 will have a gap year before university.
Kelsi Bayly (Sports Captain) biology, physical education, geography, statistics and modelling and English. Kelsi would like to get as many students involved in sports, compete successfully at the Horse of the Year, play in Taranaki U18's girls' hockey squad as well as participate in school events herself. Attending Massey University to study sports or environmental sciences possibly.
Sam Mako (Sports Captain) is studying biology, physical education, geography, statistics and modelling, English. Sam's planning to improve participation in sports and all areas of the school. Win the Taranaki Secondary schools basketball competition and compete in as many TSSSA sports as possible.
