This is the incredible moment a man scared off a charging bear by roaring at it moments before it attacked.
Ralph Persson, a hunter who lives in Jamtland, Sweden was in the forest with his wife Lena and their new hunting dog, as reported by The Local SE.
Ralph was training the dog when he noticed a sudden change in the way it was barking.
Capturing what happened next on camera, Lena filmed from a distance as a large brown bear emerged from the trees.
After stopping to look at Ralph, the huge mammal can be seen dipping its head and beginning to charge.
Within moments the bear is on top of the man but just before it goes to make contact Ralph lets out a loud roar.
While shouting, Ralph also makes himself look bigger to the animal by spreading his arms and his legs.
Shocked by the confrontation, the bear immediately comes to a stop and quickly scuttles off in the other direction.
The footage was captured from two cameras - Lena's and one that was being held by Ralph at the time.
The two angles capture the difference in size between the man and the bear as well as how close Ralph came to being attacked.
Despite the severity of the incident, bear attacks are relatively infrequent in Sweden with only two fatalities having been recorded in the country over the last century.
