Universidad de Concepcion forward Jean Meneses produced one of the most blatant dives of all time to help his side beat Colo Colo in the Chilean Primera Division on Sunday.

With the game level at 1-1 in the 85th minute, the winger stole the ball off a defender in the box before faking to cross and acrobatically throwing himself to the floor.

Incredibly the referee was fooled by the clear act of deception and pointed to the spot.

Fernando Manriquez duly stepped up to dispatch the match-winning penalty and steal the three points for the home side.

Meneses still did his best to defend his action after the game while admitting he 'let himself fall'.

"One has to take advantage of the fact players cannot touch attackers in the area," he said.

"So I played with a little bit of vividness and let myself fall."
