King scores again for Bournemouth in 2-1 win over Burnley

BOURNEMOUTH, England (AP) " Josh King scored his 16th goal of the English Premier League season to earn Bournemouth a 2-1 win over Burnley that guarantees the highest finish in its 118-year history.

The Norway forward has proven to be a revelation in 2017, with 12 of his goals coming since the middle of January.

King fired home from Ryan Fraser's low cross in the 85th minute, less than two minutes after Burnley had equalized thanks to a header by Sam Vokes at Vitality Stadium.

"Once you start scoring, it builds," King said. "This is my first season where I have scored like this. Next year I need to prove myself and do it again before you can talk about me with Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku."

Asked if Bournemouth will struggle to keep hold of King, manager Eddie Howe said: "I don't think so. We love working with him, hopefully he feels the same. We need to keep our best players and we will do everything in our power to do that."

Junior Stanislas gave Bournemouth the lead for the first time in the 25th.

Bournemouth climbed to 10th place on 45 points and is sure of ending the season higher than last year's 16th-placed finish.
